Pregnancy Brazilian waxing & sugaring at Smooth by Adina Skin
Pregnancy can make regular grooming feel harder, especially once your bump grows and visibility becomes limited. A professional Brazilian can help you feel tidy and comfortable without having to manage the area yourself.
Pregnancy can also make the skin more reactive. Appointments are performed with flexibility and care, which may include changing position, working in smaller sections, slowing the pace or taking short pauses whenever needed.
This service is suitable for first-time pregnancy Brazilian clients, regular clients maintaining their Brazilian through pregnancy, and clients booking a birth-preparation appointment before delivery.
Every pregnancy is different.
Your appointment is adjusted to your stage of pregnancy, comfort level and how you feel on the day.
- Pillows and wedges can support the belly and knees.
- Treatment can be completed in smaller sections for comfort.
- Breaks can be taken at any time.
- Positions can be changed if you feel pressure, dizziness or discomfort.
- After around 20 weeks, long periods flat on the back are avoided.
If you have pregnancy complications or medical concerns about waxing, please check with your midwife, obstetrician or maternity provider before booking.
Comfort-focused positioning during pregnancy
Left side-lying
Lie on your left side with knees bent. Pillows can support the belly and sit between the knees for comfort.
Side-lying with buttock lift
While lying on your side, you may gently lift the top buttock cheek to allow access to the back area.
Switching sides
We can begin on one side and then gently switch to the other side to complete the treatment comfortably.
Elevated / semi-reclined
The treatment bed can be elevated rather than keeping you flat, especially later in pregnancy.
Modified one-knee-up
One leg can be positioned at a time, only as far as is comfortable for access.
Comfort comes first
No single position is forced. The setup can be adjusted throughout the appointment depending on trimester and comfort.
First pregnancy Brazilian tips
This helps plan positioning and timing for comfort.
Avoid shaving immediately before the appointment. Around two weeks of regrowth is often useful after shaving.
Soft underwear and loose clothes can feel more comfortable afterwards.
Hormonal changes and increased blood flow can make the skin feel more tender than usual.
First-time treatment or long, coarse regrowth is usually more comfortable when extra time is allowed.
Maintenance & birth preparation
Shorter, manageable regrowth can make appointments feel more comfortable than waiting too long.
Allow enough time before your expected due date for the skin to settle and so the appointment does not feel rushed.
A position that felt fine at one appointment may need adjusting at the next.
Late-pregnancy appointments may include more pauses or smaller treatment sections.
Pressure, reflux, pelvic discomfort or tiredness can all affect positioning and pace.
The method is chosen for your hair, skin and comfort.
You do not need to decide between wax and sugar before arriving. Your hair length, density, skin and sensitivity are assessed and the most suitable professional method is chosen.
Hair length matters
Sugaring generally works best with around 5 mm or more of hair growth. Professional LYCON and CaronLab waxes can remove shorter hair from around 2 mm. Coarse or recently shaved hair may be better suited to professional wax until the regrowth becomes more suitable for sugaring.
Pregnancy Brazilian aftercare
- Keep the area clean and avoid unnecessary touching during the first day.
- Avoid very hot showers, baths, spas, saunas, swimming and strenuous exercise while the skin is freshly treated.
- Avoid fragranced products, strong active skincare and heavy exfoliation until the skin has settled.
- Wear loose, breathable clothing to reduce friction.
- Begin gentle exfoliation only once the skin has settled, usually after about 48 hours, to help reduce ingrown hairs.
Pregnancy Brazilian questions
Can I have a Brazilian while pregnant?
Many clients continue waxing or sugaring during pregnancy. Pregnancy can increase sensitivity, so the pace, technique and positioning are adjusted. If you have a pregnancy complication or medical concern, ask your maternity provider before booking.
Will it feel more sensitive during pregnancy?
It can. Hormonal changes and increased blood flow may make hair removal feel stronger than usual. Maintenance appointments are often easier than a first appointment or long regrowth.
What position will I be in?
Depending on your stage of pregnancy and comfort, treatment may use side-lying, semi-reclined and modified positions. You will not be expected to remain in a position that feels uncomfortable.
How close to my due date can I book?
There is no single ideal day for everyone. Many clients book a birth-preparation Brazilian in the final weeks, but it is sensible to allow enough time for the skin to settle and for plans to change.
What is the difference between maintenance and first-time pregnancy appointments?
Maintenance is intended for clients who wax or sugar regularly and have manageable regrowth. First-visit or longer-growth appointments allow more time for regrowth, sensitivity, consultation and a gentler pace.
How should I prepare?
Avoid shaving immediately before the appointment, wear loose comfortable clothing, tell Adina how far along you are, and mention any changes in sensitivity or pregnancy comfort.
What if I feel dizzy or uncomfortable?
Tell Adina immediately. The appointment can be paused, your position changed or the treatment stopped if necessary.
Is sugaring always better than wax during pregnancy?
No. Sugaring needs more hair length, while professional wax can work better on shorter or coarser regrowth. The method is selected after assessing your hair, skin and comfort on the day.
